Today, in 2022, Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry fled from the city of Gonaïves after hearing gunshots nearby. In America, inclement weather as well as the spread of Covid-19 are to blame for thousands of flight cancellations. Also in America, the continuing investigation of the January 6 Capitol riots underscores a common theme of Democracy being threatened by power-hungry groups as well as autocratic leaders.

TIH 002 2022

January 2, 2022 It’s a Sunday and we are staying at home, inside mostly. Colorado wild fires continue to wreak havoc. As of this writing, authorities are saying that a few people are missing. In other news, weather has caused thousands of flights to be cancelled. On a happier note, we discovered that we can replicate live TV… complete with the old tv shows that some of us enjoyed as kids. The Roku app, for example, has many selections of Live TV.

New Year’s Day, 2022, and it’s Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath. News media are honoring the life of Betty White, the iconic actress who died just 17 days before her 100th birthday. U.S. politicians are also honoring the late Senate Majority leader, Harry Reid. Where I am located, today has been relatively quiet, after last night’s fireworks.
